FIELD: foundry, in particular, production of exothermic mixtures for alloying iron-carbon alloys. SUBSTANCE: exothermic mixture contains alloying element and reducer. Alloying element is used in the form of calcinated wastes of electroplating which consists of oxides of alloying metals. Reducer is selected so that at temperature of 1000 C Gibbs' energy in reaction of its oxidation with oxygen is more negative than Gibbs' energy in oxidation of alloying element at the same temperature.
