HOVERING AMPHIBIOUS CRAFT Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: transport; designing of skeg-type hovering amphibious craft. SUBSTANCE: craft has inflatable side secured on hull over perimeter of craft. Hull is provided with flexible guard of air cushion which includes side skegs and front and rear flexible members. Craft is provided with engine and propulsion and supercharging plants with drive mechanisms and control system. External edges of side skegs of flexible guard secured on inflatable side and internal edges are secured on hull bottom. Flexible guard has central skeg dividing the air cushion into left-hand and right-hand chambers. Steering gear of supercharging plant used for supercharging air in these chambers is adjustable. Steering gear may be provided with control dampers fitted in supercharging plant. Skegs may be provided with protectors. Hull may be split in construction. Bottom is flat with its fore portion inclined at angle of attack relative to level which ranges from 10 to 14 deg. Propulsion plant may be made in form of propeller in steering nozzle after which vertical and horizontal aerodynamic control surfaces are to be mounted. Control surfaces may be mounted on frame rigidly secured in steering nozzle after the propeller. EFFECT: improved operating characteristics of hovering craft. 14 cl, 9 dwg
