SUBSTANCE: invention relates to cellulose-lignin powders with elevated water resistance and reduced inflammability and designed to be applied as fillers for polymer materials. Method includes impregnating powders with silicon-containing compounds oligomeric homoalkoxysiloxanes or mixed homoalkoxysiloxanes at ambient temperature and subsequent ageing at 100-108 C for 1 h. Dry powders or preactivated by treatment with diluted acid or alkali solutions and then dried powders are utilized. Modified powders preserve positive properties of original powders dispersibility and relatively low specific gravity and are distinguished by elevated water resistance, biodegradation resistance, and reduced combustion ability, which enables their utilization as hydrocarbon polymer fillers.
