FIELD: heat treatment of materials. SUBSTANCE: apparatus for treating surface of parts includes optical-range irradiator and pulse type electric power source. Irradiator is in the form of electrodes connected with pulse current source; electrodes are connected by means of one current conductive wire or filament starting initial duct of discharge. In one variant irradiator is provided with laser, at least one electrode has opening. Laser is arranged in such a way that optical axis of its irradiation is coaxial relative to electrode opening and directed along straight line connecting electrodes with possibility of starting initial duct of discharge. In other variant apparatus includes unit for generating high radio frequency electromagnetic field, irradiator has insulating plate contacting with both electrodes. EFFECT: enhanced heat treatment at effective use of initially stored energy.
