FIELD: seismology. SUBSTANCE: invention refers to process of cascading or coupling of sweeps of seismic vibrator to form sequence of cascaded sweeps. In agreement with proposed process first sequence of cascaded sweep including N segments of sweep connected with ends is formed. N segments of sweep are identical in substance with exception of fact that initial phase angle of each segment of sweep in sweep sequence rotates gradually through constant phase increment equal to 3360/N deg. Second sequence of cascaded sweep composed of N successive segments of sweep connected with ends that corresponds to first sequence of cascaded sweep and of additional segment of sweep connected with N successive segments of sweep that is so located and phased that harmonic noises are basically suppressed during correlation is formed. One of these sequences of cascaded sweep is used in sequence of sweep of vibrator and the other one is used in reference sequence of correlation. EFFECT: enhanced resolution of process. 12 cl, 19 dwg
