FIELD: seismology. SUBSTANCE: invention deals with process of creation of simple forms of seismic pulses with minimal energy of side lobes for usage in the capacity of reference signals in seismic vibrators. This process includes selection of energy spectrum from group composed of spectra which are derivatives of Gaussian functions or of their substantial equivalents, computation of spectrum sweep formed from this energy spectrum so that Fourier transform of autocorrelation of sweep appears to be same as Fourier transform of required spectrum, usage of formed spectrum sweep in the capacity of reference signal to excite seismic vibrator, application of vibrator to send vibrations to ground, collection of seismic data from ground and comparison of obtained seismic data with reference signal.
