FIELD: agriculture, in particular, protection of plants from wireworm (Agriotes). SUBSTANCE: method involves harvesting early harvest preceding crops (July-August), stubbing and plowing; providing two-or three-stage irrigation of plowed field and cultivation during intervals between irrigations; in September-October, performing deep hoeing of soil, forming ridges and conducting repeated cultivation before and after sowing (at 5-7th day and further at 8th day). Such sequence of operations allows amount of wireworms in soil to be reduced by 50%. EFFECT: increased crop yield and simplified method. 6 tbl, 2 ex
