PLANT FOR CONTINUOUS CASTING Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: technology of casting articles, for instance, aluminum protectors or aluminum pigs for steel deoxidation on plant of continuous casting with lingots installed on converter in two or more rows. SUBSTANCE: lingots are single-section and/or multisection and installed on conveyor for possibility of conjugation of side walls of foregoing and subsequent lingots located in neighboring rows of conveyor. In multisection lingots, subject to conjugation are only side walls of extreme sections of lingots. It makes possible to reject transverse rapidly wearing partitions installed on boundary of sections for separation of castings. Feeding channels for additional feeding of melt to lingots are made on sections of conjugation of side walls of single-section lingots, or in multisection lingots, side walls of extreme sections of these lingots. Besides, feeding channels in side walls are coaxial to vertical axles of hinges of lingot sections. Such arrangement ensures the most favorable conditions for cutting off castings on boundary of feeding channels and allows avoiding pushing out from lingots of noncutoff casting, i. e. reject.
