FIELD: methods of producing nitric acid. SUBSTANCE: method includes oxidation of ammonia with oxygen at temperature of 780-950 C; additional oxidation of molecular nitrogen with vapors of nitric acid at temperature of 300-450 C in indirect heat exchange with the main flow of nitrous gases. Obtained in this case additional flow of nitrous gases is mixed with the main flow. Prior to catalytic oxidation of nitrogen, nitrogen-containing gas is saturated with vapors of nitric acid due to its spraying with 55-75% nitric acid heated owing to heat exchange with additional flow of nitrous gases. EFFECT: higher effect of process due to decrease of ammonia flow coefficient and increased unit productivity. 2 cl, 1 dwg, 1 tbl
