FIELD: inorganic chemistry. SUBSTANCE: exhaust gases circulate. Oxygen content in circulating gases is maintained in the range of vol. % 10-60. Temperature of ammonia, oxygen and circulating gases are maintained at 160-170 C. A part of circulating gases is directed for separating of produced nitric acid from dissolved nitric oxides. This part of the gases is removed from flow upstream of admitting total amount of oxygen required to provide balance in producing nitric acid. Nitric oxides are catalytically removed from the circulating gases upstream of mixing with ammonia and oxygen. A part of circulating gases required for separating nitric acid is removed from the top part of an absorption column. EFFECT: simplified method. 5 cl, 9 dwg, 2 tbl
