FIELD: construction engineering. SUBSTANCE: member relates to structures used as sea pile, telephone post, or rail sleeper. Elongated structural member has plastic barrel with reinforcing rod located in plastic barrel and passing inside entire barrel in longitudinal direction of this structural member. Structural member is made by method of continuous extrusive pressing of molten plastic in head-piece with profiling passage so that molten plastic mass surrounds reinforcing rod which is introduced into head-piece with profiling passage and is bound with it. The method allows for manufacture of elongated structural members for required purpose, needed length and overall dimensions. Manufacture is effected without using multiplicity of moulds. Manufactured structural members are not corroded in sea water, they are of long service life, sufficiently resilient and strong enough to take shocks not heavy. They do not harm environmental medium, and save natural resources because no use is made of wood which is traditional material for production of aforesaid structural members.
