FIELD: peat production industry. SUBSTANCE: method is intended for processing of peat and producing lumpy peat. According to method, peat deposit is developed according to intensive technology with subsequent processing of raw peat at stationary work site. Piled raw peat is subjected to separation and then to dispersion. Thus obtained peat mass is formed and spread in the form of tape consisting of lumps on load-bearing line of net-like conveyor belt installed under roof shelter. Peat lumps here are drying down to moisture content close to first critical moisture content value. Peat lumps which due to drying acquired initial strength are taken out from net-like conveyor belt and loaded in piles in containers. On given or other production site protected from atmospheric precipitation, store load units are made up of peat piles or containers. In process of storage in stacks (probably ventilated) or in containers peat lumps are additionally dried down to standard moisture content of 35-40%.
