FIELD: burning of solid fuels on fire grates. SUBSTANCE: member of fire grate for furnaces has recesses on the head on its lower side or on the base that are open downwards and used as outlets for primary air fed from below. Fixed cleaning bulges are arranged on each rear side of the fire grate member, the quantity of the bulges corresponds to the quantity of the recesses, the shape of their cross-section corresponds to one of the cross-section of the recesses, with due account made of the clearance required for movement. The cleaning bulges are within the limits of travel of the respective overlying member of the fire grate, they are made contracting at least at the end entering the recess. To prevent excessive wear, each member of the fire grate has a cover plate on the base, made of wear-resistant material. EFFECT: enhanced cleaning of passage for air and completeness of fuel combustion. 17 cl, 4 dwg
