FIELD: machine engineering, namely manufacture of bimetallic blanks of inserts of sliding bearing assemblies. SUBSTANCE: apparatus includes base, two rests suspended on axles. Base is provided with shock absorbing limiter engaging with rests. Opening for rotation axle of each rest is shifted from vertical line passing through mass center of rest towards second rest. Mass of rest is selected according to offered relation. Method comprises steps of arranging cladded blanks near rests, placing explosion pack for cladding between them, initiating charge of explosion matter; at placing blank coinciding its center with center of shock of rest relative to rotation axis.
