FIELD: preparation of biologically active material. SUBSTANCE: present invention describes novel N- carbonylanilines of formula (IIb): wherein R², R⁴, R⁶ are hydrogen or halogen atom, or branched C₁-C₄ alkyl group which is unsubstituted or substituted by one or more identical or different halogen atoms till complete substitution of alkyl moiety; R′⁷ is -CH₂-CN or CH₂-CS-NH₂; provided that R² and R⁶ are not simultaneously methyl when R′⁷ is CH₂-CN. Present invention also describes method of preparing N-carbonylanilines of above-mentioned formula (IIb). Method comprises reacting N-carbonylated aniline of formula 7: wherein X, R³ and R⁵ are hydrogen, with compound of formula II: Σ-CHY-CN (II) wherein Σ is halogen, alkyl carbonyloxy, preferably phenyl sulfonyloxy and Y is hydrogen, to give compound IIb wherein R^7′ is CH₂CN and subsequently thiolysing the resulting compound to give compound IIb wherein R′⁷ is CH₂-CS-NH₂.
