FIELD: chemical industry. SUBSTANCE: present invention describes compound of formula I: H2N-C(=NR1)-NH-(CH2)n-C←NH2)-CO2H or salts wherein R1 is C1-6 alkyl, and n is 3-5. Method comprises reacting compound of formula II: H2N-C(=NR1)SO3H with compound of formula III: H2N(CH2)n-C(←NH2)CO2H in the presence of inorganic base or oxidizing compound of formula IV: H2N-C(=NR1)SH with peracetic acid in polar solvent, and then in the presence of inorganic base and, subsequently reacting with compound of formula III. Method is carried out without isolation of any intermediate products. Present invention describes method of preparing compound of formula II by oxidation of compound of formula IV with peracetic acid in polar solvent.
