DUAL-FUNCTION ANTENNA FOR PORTABLE RADIO COMMUNICATION DEVICE Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

Abstract RU 2128386 C1

FIELD: antenna engineering. SUBSTANCE: dual-function antenna is designed to transmit and receive signals in first and second modes. First feeder 120 drives main antenna exciter 110 into first mode of operation. Second feeder 140 is connected to first feeder 120. Upper choke coil 150 and metal layer 160 are adjusted to wavelength of radio-frequency energy transmitted during second mode. Main antenna exciter 110 and metal layer 160 form auxiliary antenna exciter for operation in second mode. In this way, portable radio communication device provided with small antenna incorporating first and second feeders can operate in two modes. EFFECT: reduced size and ability to operate in two modes with linear and circular polarization. 10 cl, 2 dwg
