FIELD: self-phasing antennas using insulator. SUBSTANCE: antenna array element incorporating two pairs of intersecting branches transmits and receives signals at resonant frequency. Insulator is placed close to branch to attain self-phasing interrelation between branches at resonant frequency. Branches may form crossing loops or spiral crossing loops such as those in spiral antenna which is formed by four wires. Insulating cup fitted on branches of same loop ensures equal distance between current-carrying conductors of branches. Array size is reduced and its antenna element is made round in cross-section without impairing directivity pattern corresponding to maximum gain of antenna due to using insulator on definite branch. EFFECT: reduced size of antenna without impairing its directivity pattern. 10 cl, 8 dwg
