FIELD: medical engineering; ophthalmology. SUBSTANCE: device has illumination system with fiber-optical illumination channel and observation system consisting of objective and ocular. Collective lens is installed additionally between objective and ocular in rear focal plane of objective. Ocular is positioned at a distance of its front focus relative to collective lens. Objective is made wide-angled, with input pupil brought forward. Device provides for eyeground examination at an angle of up to 140 deg which gives full picture of eyeground including periphery.
