FIELD: metallurgy, more specifically, preparation of raw materials for blast-furnace process. SUBSTANCE: pyrite cinders introduced into sinter burden are preliminarily mixed with iron ore concentrate in ratio of 2.6-2.5 and additional fuel of fraction sizing 0.5-2 mm in the amount of 3.0-4.5% per each per cent of sulfate sulfur in pyrite cinders. Then mixture is subjected to pelletizing with additional of binding agent to obtain pellets sizing 3-6 mm. Produced pellets are introduced into sinter burden and sintered with use of limestone as flux. Sinter burden may be charged in two layers. In this case, pyrite cinders are charged only in upper and lowers layers contains 55-60% of all limestone contained in sinter burden. EFFECT: utilization of pyrite cinders - wastes of sulfuric acid production whose large stockpiles impair environment; production of sinter acceptable quality with low content of sulfur. 2 cl
