FIELD: methods and apparatuses for deacidation of cellulose materials, more specifically, improved methods of treatment of books, magazines, newspapers and paper documents in storage. SUBSTANCE: method consisting of bound or filed materials having back and fold includes their treatment in deacidation medium during time sufficient for efficient deacidation. Treatment is carried out by immersion of cellulose materials located on carrier into bath with treatment medium and provision in bath of relative displacement of cellulose materials and medium in direction, mainly, parallel to back or fold of material. Relative displacement at preset speed is performed to ensure the most efficient influence of treatment medium on cellulose material. Then, it is withdrawn from bath and dried in drier. The apparatus for embodiment of the method of cellulose material diacidation in treatment medium including suspended alkali particles has bath for treatment medium with carrier for holding cellulose material with supporting frame. Carrier has means for reciprocation of supporting frame, mainly, in horizontal linear direction at preset stroke length and speed of motion. Supporting frame is installed for sliding over bath and is removable. It is preferable to treat every page of book or some other cellulose material and do not leave visible residue of treating material. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 22 cl, 7 dwg, 4 tbl
