FIELD: aircraft equipment for detection of ground radar-contrast obstacles. SUBSTANCE: method for detection of distance, angular coordinates, and height of obstacles involves use of Doppler shift of antenna beam of coherent Doppler-pulse aircraft radar in elevation plane. Distance and angular coordinates are detected by means which are standard for radars, while height of obstacle is measured by width of Doppler frequency shift of reflected signal.
