FIELD: radio communications; television broadcasting in ultrahigh-frequency band. SUBSTANCE: digital television system has on sending end photoelectric transducer, three analog-to-digital converters, and radio signal transmitter; on receiving end, it has sync-wave master oscillator, frequency synthesizer, two analog-to-digital voice-signal converters, sync signal code shaper, and three main-color video-signal code shapers, photoelectric transducer built in lens, two piezodeflectors, line and frame sweep units, two dichroic mirrors, three photodetectors, and three preamplifiers; transmitter has four channels; newly introduced on receiving end are touch control unit, four channels for receiving and processing sync signal codes and three video signals, three delay units, three OR-gate units., three pulse-amplifier units, radiation modulating unit, two piezodeflectors with reflectors at ends, line and frame sweep units, and screen. Shaped on sending end are four digital streams: one incorporates sync signal codes and other stream, codes of three video signals which are transmitted at four modulated frequencies into the air; four radio signals are received at receiving end, detected, and audible color image is displayed on screen without code conversion into analog electric signals. System operates in frequency band 41 000 times shorter than that used by analog television system operating at 8 MHz and its power requirement is 40 times lower due to dispensing with transmitting tubes in TV cameras and color tubes in TV receivers.
