FIELD: restoration and preservation of tempera and color-wash monumental and easel paintings. SUBSTANCE: the claimed method includes improvement of processing properties of aqueous solution of casein (pH 7.6-8.0) by reducing its viscosity and preventing change of surface finish and scaling of sprayed paint layer secured by casein due to enzymic hydrolysis of 5% casein solution (pH 7.6-8.0) in trio-HCl buffer (0.05 M) by the action of metalloproteinase presenting active part of megaterine taken in ratio of l wt.p of enzyme per 200 wt.p of casein at temperature of 37 C for 10 min. Upon expiration of 10 min, casein hydrolysis is discontinued by introduction into glue composition of ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid in volume ratio of 1:25. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 1 tbl
