FIELD: detection of radioactive nuclear materials. SUBSTANCE: invention is meant for detection of radioactive nuclear materials put into hand baggage and cargo shifted through check points and control posts of custom-houses and other facilities of national and economic application. Gear includes detector of gamma radiation, sensor detecting presence of object in monitored area, neutron radiation detector, transducer of opening, information processing controller, signalling unit, power supply unit and control desk. Neutron radiation detector is made up of counters of slow neutrons surrounded with moderator and amplifier of signals read by counter. EFFECT: provision for registration of materials simultaneously emitting gamma and neutron radiation, for instance, plutonium. 1 cl, 2 dwg
