FIELD: radiation monitoring on state and customs checkpoints. SUBSTANCE: radiation is measured, while mobile object passes checkpoint region, by means of detection units, which are arranged along and above monitored region on both sides of mobile object. Said method involves detection of duration starting from appearance of mobile object in monitored region till detection of ionizing radiation source (Tn), till end of ionizing radiation source detection (Te), till moment, when object leaves monitored region (Tin), calculation of sum of samples for all detection units (∑ Si), for detection units which are located in upper part of monitored region , for detection units, which are located on one side of mobile object . Then method involves calculation of equations which values provides probability of location of ionizing radiation source in mobile vehicle with respect to height (H), width (LR) and length (FB). EFFECT: real time detection of plausible location of ionizing radiation source in mobile object. 1 dwg
