FIELD: shipbuilding; designing of hulls of ships and other craft. SUBSTANCE: displacement-type ship has hull with transom stern and waterlines close to sinusoidal forms. Ship has surface running from transom stern at level of plane of designer's waterline as far as datum plane approximately at distance of L/2, where L is ship's length. This surface defines acute angle between datum plane and inclined plane. Inclined plane is defined by line of intersection of transom stern with designer's waterplane and point located on above-mentioned surface at distance of 0.2L from transom stern. Acute angle between datum plane and inclined plane may range from about 12.5 deg to about 14 deg. This angle may be approximately equal to 12.5 deg. Ship's hull may be provided with convex bilges with are constant in size from bow to midship section and come to naught in stern. EFFECT: improved sea-worthiness of ship. 33 cl, 14 dwg
