FIELD: testing pipe line fittings provided with flanges for strength. SUBSTANCE: tests has holddown device with seals for engageable surfaces of flanges made in form of fixed and movable plates. Fixed plate is located in base. Movable plate is articulated with rod of loading hydraulic cylinder which is mounted on turnable plate relative to upright. Sliders fitted with longitudinal slots are secured on fixed plate. Sliders are engageable with rods of hydraulic cylinders used for clamping the flanges of fittings Holddown device has passages for communication with atmosphere and with working fluid source for filling the fittings.
