FIELD: chromatographic analysis. SUBSTANCE: invention is related to thermoelectric semiconductor coolers designed for cooling or thermostating of capillary of chromatographic column in process of gas analysis with the aid of chromatographer. Thermoelectric cooler for chromatographer is made up of cooling thermopile, cooled matrix conjugate to it, fan, body, cover, heat insulation and temperature sensitive element. Thermopile includes individual modules positioned along capillary of chromatographic column and parallel to heat flow. Cooled matrix incorporates separate elements fabricated from highly heat-conducting material, for instance, copper, and interconnected by means of flexible heat line, for example, flexible multiconductor copper cable. Joints between separate elements of matrix are sealed with elastic sealing agent, for instance, wicksint. Matrix has narrow groove of rectangular shape whose width corresponds to diameter of capillary and depth equal to three diameters of capillary as minimum. Cover has trapezoidal groove with angle of 20-30 degrees. Cooler is fitted with separable frame with screw clamps. Advantages of cooler are simplicity of mounting and dismantling of capillary in matrix of cooler and of cooler proper in working chamber of chromatographer, high reliability of operation of thermopile in wide temperature range. EFFECT: simplicity of mounting and dismantling of capillary in matrix, high reliability of operation of thermopile and possibility of cooling of capillary of any length. 1 dwg
