METHOD OF FIRE SUPPRESSION IN BUILDING Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: suppression of fires of high severity when individual means of fire suppression fail because of significant spreading of fire. SUBSTANCE: method includes evacuation of people from building, shutoff of all supplying pipelines and removal of media from them, closing of building from outside with fireproof film, mainly, closing of building apertures, stretching of film between roof and foundation. Film lower end is pinched to minimize communication of building internal space with exterior atmosphere. Then, supplied to all supplying pipelines and internal space of building is gas medium nonsustaining burning. Firemen enter the building, open all rooms and all closing devices of supplying pipelines, isolate apertures with film and act on fire seats by means of individual fire suppression after displacement of air out of building and its replacement with supplied gas. Excessive pressure is maintained inside the building to prevent air from getting into building internal space up to fire suppression.
