FIELD: industrial inorganic synthesis. SUBSTANCE: new material based on mesoporous crystalline phase of zirconium dioxide is provided with elevated values of specific surface and elevated specific summary pore volume owing to virtually full retention of crystalline structure of product after oxidative heat treatment at temperature 550 to 600 C. Method of preparing such material includes, in its first step, preparation of initial form of mesoporous crystalline phase of zirconium dioxide by way of hydrothermal crystallization of reaction mixture. Mixture is prepared from zirconium(IV) sulfate-zirconium(IV) hydroxide and cationic surfactant in aqueous solution. In the second process step, mesoporous structure of initial phase form is stabilized by its treatment under specified conditions of an element oxide taken in specified proportion to initial form of mesoporous crystalline phase.
