FIELD: leather industry. SUBSTANCE: fat substances and coarse solid particles are separated by commonly performed settling and filtration. Then, fine suspended particles are separated by centrifugation at rotation speed 3000 rpm for at least 2 min until residual content of suspended particles not higher than 150 mg/l is attained. Thereafter solution is mixed with hydrogen peroxide in amounts from 10 to 150% of their stoichiometric amount (provided by chemical oxygen minimum method) and UV treated for 15 to 120 min at irradiation intensity 15 to 60 kW/cu.m, while exhausted fluid is used to be mixed with fresh tanner. EFFECT: simplified process, eliminated waste, and reduced reagent consumption. 1 tbl, 3 ex
