FIELD: waste water treatment. SUBSTANCE: invention relates to removing sulfides via their catalytic oxidation with air, for example, waste waters from leather and paper making enterprises, and is distinguished by that, in preliminary treatment stage, 0.5-10 g/l phosphogypsum is added under stirring followed by settling for 10 to 30 min, whereas oxidation process is carried out at pH 9-12 in presence of catalyst composed of textile volume structures, contact time being from 5 to 45 min.
