FIELD: production of high neutron and gamma quanta fluencies; heat and electricity generation. SUBSTANCE: fast neutrons are first decelerated to thermal energies and sent to magnetic vacuum trap which produces fissionable material plasma. The latter is then accelerated and passed to trap again at speed same as that at which energy of relative approach of thermal neutrons and moving plasma coincides with that of resonant fission. EFFECT: reduced fuel charge and improved efficiency of its utilization.
