FIELD: medicine, in particular, for noninvasive lithotripsy and physiotherapy; hydrolocation; oceanology and microbiology. SUBSTANCE: generator housing is provided with acoustically transparent window. First discharge electrode is made in the form of porous structure. It is positioned on surface of dielectric base with holes and installed opposite acoustically transparent window. Second discharge electrode is mounted behind base. Operating surfaces of active conducting members are arranged along surface geometrically similar to required spatial form of shock-acoustic wave front. Total operating area of active radiating elements is at least one-third of area of base holes and at least one-thirtieth of opposite electrode area. Generator makes it possible to obtain shock-acoustic waves of wide range of amplitude-time parameters and arbitrary preset form of front. EFFECT: enlarged functional capabilities. 12 cl, 2 dwg
