FIELD: chemical industry, more particularly preparation of titanium dioxide. SUBSTANCE: titanium fluoroammonium salt is dissolved in 10-30% hydrogen peroxide. H2O2:Ti molar ratio is 2-5. Alkaline treatment is carried out with ammonia solution. NH3:Ti molar ratio is 2-4.5. The resulting precipitate is subjected to pyrohydrolysis at 20-1000 C. Titanium fluoro ammonium salt is dissolved in the presence of 1-3 wt % alkaline vanadates, alkali metal bichromates, zinc compounds, magnesium, calcium, aluminium and antimony salts. EFFECT: higher purity, greater whiteness and dispersity of titanium dioxide. 5 cl, 3 ex
