FIELD: peat winning technique. SUBSTANCE: method relates to extracting peat by milling procedure and can be used in peat industry for evaluating degree of draining in peatery areas being developed. According to method, constructed in center of peatery production lot is observation bore-hole down to depth of draining system. Then, by means of measuring rule determined is distance from day surface of production lot down to level of underground water and according to following formula: W = a+b.Ho, where W is moisture content of peatery layer being extracted, %; Ho is distance from day surface of production lot down to level of underground water, m; a, b is permanent coefficients, determined is moisture content percentage which serves as base for determining degree of drainage of peat layer being extracted. Application of aforesaid method allows for reduction of labour-intensity and for increasing accuracy in realization of goal. EFFECT: higher efficiency.
