FIELD: equipment for manufacture of cement, grate coolers in particular; manufacture of building materials. SUBSTANCE: each articulated member of grate is provided with labyrinth made in form of duct with partition inside over entire width of member; one wall of duct and partition are shortened in height forming labyrinth with cooling air inlet and outlet. During operation, labyrinth excludes spilling of fine fractions of material being cooled. Thus thickness of layer being cooled remains similar over entire length and its aerodynamic resistance is identical in loading and unloading ends. EFFECT: avoidance of use of spill material removal conveyer and overheating of metalwork in loading end; reduced entrainment of dust; reduced expenses for gas cleaning and power requirements. 2 cl, 3 dwg
