FIELD: construction and other branches of industry. SUBSTANCE: method involves delivering cement clinker through shaft onto air-permeable fire grates; advancing cement clinker along fire grates by means of reciprocating fire grates to discharge end of refrigerator; supplying air by means of main blower to sections under fire grates and by means of auxiliary direct blower positioned at leading end of refrigerator and adapted for supplying air under first row of grate bars; controlling height of cement clinker layer by regulating grate bar motion frequency to provide for forming cement clinker layer of 0.4-0.6 m height on discharge end of fire grate. Air supplied by main blower is directed to area under lower layer of cement clinker at flow rate of 1.8-2.0 n cub m/kg of cement clinker. Method allows temperature of secondary air flow to be stabilized, cement clinker to be effectively cooled, specific air flow rate to be reduced and environment contamination extent to be decreased by minimized outburst of excessive air into atmosphere.
