FIELD: remote control of vehicle and road- building machinery transmissions. SUBSTANCE: gear shifter has shroud and gear-shift lever actuating speed sensors in positions maintained by lock spring-loaded with respect to shroud. Gear shifter also has additional sensor enabling short-time engagement with gear- shift lever when it is unidirectionally shifted from one speed to other. In this way, additional sensor yields signal indicating gear-shift direction in transmission. As an alternative., gear shifter may be provided with one more sensor supplying short-time signal indicating gear shifting in other direction as well as signal length increasing device for signals arriving from additional sensors.
