SUBSTANCE: lift with cable-driving (traction) sheave and driving machines arranged in bottom has car moving along car guides, counterweight moving along counterweight guides, set of lifting cables supporting car and counterweight and drive arranged in lower part of lift shaft. Drive has cable driving sheave set into rotation by drive machine and coupled with lifting cables. lift drive is arranged lower than counterweight movement path. In direction of counterweight thickness, drive is arranged within the limits of shaft space required by counterweight for moving, including safety margin.
