FIELD: transport.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to elevator using thin high-strength wise for lifting cable. Proposed elevator does not, preferably, comprise machine compartment and its hoist interacts with the set of lifting cable via cable-driving pulley. Note here that said set of cables comprises lifting cables of, in factor, round cross-section. Said cables have load-bearing part braided of steel wire of round and/or non-round cross-section. Said cross-section approximates to 0.015 mm2, but is smaller than 0.2 mm2, while wire breaking point exceeds 2000 N/mm2. Lifting cable diameter does not exceed speed regulator cable diameter. Preferably, aforesaid hoist features, in fact, lower weight compared with elevator rated capacity.
EFFECT: decreased overall dimensions and weight.
