FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: invention, in particular, relates to melting finely dispersed sulfide material containing metals such as copper, nickel, and lead involving oxygen enrichment. Raw material is fed into suspension melting furnace together with flux and oxidizing gas. Walls of reaction space of the furnace are cooled and thereby at least two molten phases are formed. According to invention, degree of oxygen enrichment of oxidizing gas is at least 40% to raise temperature of suspension particles to accelerate reactions proceeding in reaction space, while thickness of the reaction space wall lining is varied in accordance with amount of product produced by furnace with the aid of cooling members manufactured by stretching molding technique and mounted in reaction space wall. EFFECT: enhanced process efficiency. 4 cl, 4 dwg
