FIELD: polymer materials. SUBSTANCE: polyacrylonitrile "Nitron" fibers, optionally pretreated with ammonia, amine, or quaternary ammonium base, are dissolved in presence of 0.5-3.0 wt % alkali or alkali-earth metal chloride. Resultant copolymer solution is formed into precipitation bath with low precipitating capability to produce thread, which is then treated and dried. Tapes manufactured from this thread has tensile strength 154 to 180.3 kg/sq. mm and can be used for manufacturing sports equipment and in aircraft industry.
