FIELD: medicine, in particular, traumatology, orthopedics. SUBSTANCE: needle tensioner has cylindrical housing with through hole for needle location, needle fixing and clamping mechanisms coupled by slide interacting with handle screw by means of thread. Needle lock is made as tapered split collet with cuts on internal surface positioned on spring-loaded pusher and contacting the needle clamping mechanism. The latter consists of cylindrical bushing with tapered hole. With one end it is coupled to slide through thread, and with the other end it may thrust upon housing bottom or move away from the latter under action of slide when moving inside housing, thereby clamping or relating collet with needle, respectively. Adjustable stop displaced with nut is mounted on side surface of cylindrical housing, and two angular grooves are provided on working end of stop for head of needle fixing bolt. Needle tensioner has universal construction. It may be installed on needle of any diameter located at any distance from ring of external fixing apparatus. EFFECT: quick and reliable tensioning. 2 dwg
