FIELD: rolled stock production, namely constructions of rack type coolers of merchant bar rolling mills. SUBSTANCE: cooler for rolled stock includes arranged in parallel alternating in pairs stationary and moving handling toothed racks, levelling roller table and stopper placed in front of roller table. The last has multigroove rollers and their rotation drive mechanism. Rollers are stationary mounted between toothed racks. Cooler is also provided with carrying beams mounted under toothed racks across them. Carrying beams support bearing units of roller table rollers. Rollers of roller table are combined by groups one with another and with their rotation drive by means of flexible elastic kinematic connection and tension chain mechanism with shock absorber. Kinematic connection has plate-type chain, sprockets mounted on drive stems of rollers, their rotation drive and deflection sprockets. Rotation drive of roller table rollers is arranged under carrying beam. Deflection sprockets are arranged on carrying beams between rollers of roller table. EFFECT: enhanced efficiency of cooler due to provision of admissible level of positive and negative acceleration values of rolled piece moving in lengthwise direction towards stopper, elimination of rolled stock damage. 3 dwg, 1 ex
