LOGGING METHOD Russian patent published in 1999 - IPC

FIELD: forestry. SUBSTANCE: method involves felling trees on cutting by felling machine; feeding felled trees to branch lopping machine having lopping-logging unit; combining this process with process of cutting tree trunks into grades; upon lopping of branches from predetermined portion of tree trunk, cutting this portion of tree trunk by cutting tool positioned transverse to working direction; repeating these operations through the whole length of tree trunk; cutting off tree top by cutting tool so as to leave tree top of size allowing further cutting of tree top into wastes; feeding cut branches and top wastes into hopper of lopping-logging unit for processing them into small sized wastes by chopping devices; feeding processed wastes by longitudinal conveyor to transverse conveyor of lopping-logging unit; laying produced gradings in accumulator of lopping-logging unit; upon completion of tree trunk processing, discharging gradings onto shoulder of road, on which lopping-logging unit advances; picking up packs of gradings by self-propelled jaw-type logging machine with following moving packs of gradings by this machine to zone from which they are transferred to grading cart; loading grading packs by cart manipulator into cart with following transportation to reprocessing and consuming zones.
