FIELD: forestry.

SUBSTANCE: inventions can be used in wood industry for production of root sorts. Method includes operations of rolls, knots cutting, bucking and debarking of fallen tree trunks. Crosswise sawing of truncated tree trunk is carried out without slowing down and termination of rotation of cow trimmers embracing the necks moving along it. Jigging and splitting machine for production of root sorts by the method according to cl. 1 includes a housing on which delimiting blades are mounted attached to the housing by means of axes, a mechanism for measuring lengths of assortments, sawing and debasing mechanisms. Housing consists of three telescopic sections. On two sections there are pairs of delimbing knives. On the third section of the working element there is a pout mechanism with the possibility of its continuous longitudinal movement along the casing axis relative to the first two sections when they pull a tree trunk through the lucrative blades in the process of successive sharp extension of the sections and interception of the shaft with the cutter blades installed on them with transverse sawing of the barrel by a saw mechanism.

EFFECT: method and device will allow to increase production of rooted assortments.
