FIELD: petrochemistry and hydrogenation catalysts. SUBSTANCE: catalyst is prepared via interaction of aqueous solutions of C1-3-organic acid cobalt salts with higher organic acids formed in the course of regeneration of acetic acid cobalt salt and having boiling temperature above 160 C at 50-200 mm Hg.
