FIELD: nonferrous metallurgy, more specifically, production of electrocontact materials by methods of powder metallurgy. SUBSTANCE: method consists in that at the stage of preparation of mixture for pressing of blanks, added to initial powder of copper is organic polymer in the form of solution which after pyrolysis and subsequent heat treatment is converted into uniformly distributed highly dispersed carbon residue in copper matrix (polymer quantity of 0.2-1.2 wt.% in terms of residue). Such introduction of carbon allows manufacture of electric contacts with low and stable contact resistance. EFFECT: higher efficiency. 1 tbl
